Travel + Leisure’s 2nd Best U.S. City

Once again, Travel+Leisure’s readers show their love for the City Different, ranking it as their second favorite U.S. city in the magazine’s annual readers survey. “Readers rated cities on their sights and landmarks, culture, food, friendliness, shopping, and overall value.”

Northern New Mexico has long held sway as a destination for pioneers and cultural creatives. From its high desert mesas and snow-rimmed mountains to its rich Native American and Spanish colonial history, Northern New Mexico’s has inspired artists, writers and song-writers. Think of Georgia O’Keefe and Ansel Adams, or New Mexican-born John Denver and Jim Morrison. More recently, George R.R. Martin, author and originator of the Game of Thrones, has made his cultural mark with Meow Wolf’s genre-defining House of Eternal Return, a 20,000-square-foot immersive, non-linear narrative art experience.
